- V.34 is the ITU-T Recommendation for modems working over PSTN type
- circuits at up to 28800bit/s in full or half-duplex mode. This is as
- close to an official standard as anything in international
- telecommunications can be.
- An extension to 33600bit/s, nicknamed "V.34+", is available from several
- manufacturers and will probably be adopted by the ITU sometime this
- year.
-
- V.Fast was the nickname used for V.34 during its development.
-
- V.Fast Class, V.FC for short, is a proprietary scheme for modems working
- over PSTN type circuits at up to 28800bit/s full-duplex. It was
- developed and implemented by Rockwell. (USRobotics are a sole license
- holder.) V.FC was somewhat earlier available than V.34, but has since
- lost any market significance it might have had.
